MACC Activities
Monthly Meetings
Our monthly meetings are normally held on the third Monday of the month from 7 - 9 PM. Dinner starts at 6:30, the meeting starts at 7:00, and then there is a guest speaker or activity.
Children are always welcome at meetings and a babysitter is available for $1 per child per hour. This is the perfect time to catch up on what is going on with club members, see friends, or learn something new about parenting or our community. Attendance is not required.
Mom & Me Activities
Playgroups
Playgroups are open to all members and their children. Playgroups take place all over the valley - at playgrounds, the children's museum, the library, parks, homes, local spots, or businesses. The events are posted on our Facebook page with all the details. These groups give kids a chance to play together while giving moms a chance to socialize and be encouraged.
Field Trips/Tours
Another fun activity we do in MACC is taking field trips/tours to different area businesses and attractions. Field trips usually include an informational lesson for the children or a different type of learning experience. Past field trips have been taken to St. Mary of the Woods, the Terre Haute Regional Airport, Horse Shoe Equine Rescue, Inland Aquatics, WTWO, Fresh Thyme, fire stations, and many other places around the Wabash Valley.
Mom Activities
Mom's Night Out (MNO), Mom's Day Out (MDO), or Mom's Morning Out (MMO).
For Mom's Night Out, we meet sometime in the evening and go out to eat, play games, go to the movies, craft, DIY, and/or other fun activities.
For Mom's Day Out, we meet sometime during the day to go shopping, work on a project, craft, put together freezer meals, care packages, or something else fun.
For Mom's Morning Out, we typically meet for breakfast, coffee, or just to visit.
These events are typically reserved just for Moms and infants in arms.
Other Events
We also have many other events throughout the year. Things like visiting retirement and rehabilitation centers for costume parades or caroling, Parent's Night Out (date nights, dance lessons, etc.), new member gatherings, Spring Fling, Kindergarten Kick Off, Fall Fun Day, Christmas party, and a Favorite Things party.
We participate in various community events as well, including Family Learning Day at the Vigo County Public Library. During the warm months, we post a Story Walk in Dobbs Park where you can read a book while walking on a wooded trail. The story is changed monthly and is available for all of the community to enjoy.
